Teaching
I have taught an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses that delve into the social implications of technology, exploring theoretical frames and methodological approaches. With the changing demographics of each cohort that I teach, I am constantly thinking of more creative ways to engage with students. I have employed a gamut of teaching methods including problem-based learning, virtual classrooms in Second Life, online lectures discussion forums, flipped classrooms and townhall seminars. I am a firm believer in the device-free classroom and feedback from students suggests that they like it too! I am heartened to have my teaching efforts recognised through eight awards for excellent teaching at university and faculty level. Most recently, I won the Faculty Teaching Excellence Innovation Award for my flipped classroom teaching.
